Beschreibung

Adipotide (FTPP) is a synthetic peptidomimetic research compound engineered as a bifunctional chimeric peptide that combines the cyclic CKGGRAKDC adipose-vasculature homing motif with the D(KLAKLAK)₂ proapoptotic effector domain through a Gly-Gly linker. It is supplied as an investigational laboratory peptide for use in ligand-directed vascular-targeting research, prohibitin/annexin-A2 receptor research, and structure–activity studies on chimeric peptidomimetic design.

Laboratory research studies have positioned adipotide as a reference compound for examining how engineered homing motifs engage the prohibitin/annexin-A2 receptor complex on adipose-vasculature endothelial cells in research models. Research models have investigated its receptor binding kinetics, internalization dynamics, and downstream mitochondrial-membrane research, providing comparative data versus the CKGGRAKDC homing motif alone and other ligand-directed peptidomimetic research compounds (Salameh et al., 2016, JCI Insight).

Beyond receptor pharmacology, adipotide is investigated in cellular and animal research models that explore adipose-vasculature research, endothelial-cell research, prohibitin/annexin-A2/CD36 complex research, and structure–activity research on chimeric peptidomimetic design. The molecule's bifunctional architecture, which combines a ligand-directed homing domain with a mitochondrial-membrane-engaging effector domain through a Gly-Gly linker, is also a frequent subject of structural-design and chimeric-peptide research (Adipotide peptidomimetic annexin research, PubMed).

The peptide is supplied as a lyophilized powder to ensure optimal stability during storage and handling.
