Beschreibung

Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid analog corresponding to the N-terminal active fragment of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is classified as a GHRH-receptor agonist research peptide used in somatotropic-axis research models.

Through engagement of the GHRH receptor (GHRH-R) on anterior-pituitary somatotrophs, Sermorelin is investigated as a tool compound for studying cAMP/PKA-coupled receptor signaling, downstream growth-hormone-pathway dynamics, and pulsatile somatotropic-axis output in controlled laboratory models. By acting upstream of pituitary GH release rather than as an exogenous hormone, it allows investigators to probe receptor-mediated signaling without overriding endogenous regulatory feedback.

Sermorelin is actively investigated across several research domains, including GHRH-receptor pharmacology, hypothalamic-pituitary-axis signaling research, IGF-1 signaling research, and somatotropic-axis modulation in experimental models. Published research has characterized Sermorelin as a GHRH(1-29) analog that engages GHRH-R-coupled cAMP signaling and supports research into pulsatile growth-hormone-pathway regulation (Prakash & Goa, 1999, BioDrugs). Levels of endogenous GHRH-stimulated somatotropic output are known to decline across age-associated research models, supporting continued investigation of Sermorelin as a receptor-targeted research compound.

The peptide is supplied as a lyophilized powder to ensure optimal stability during storage and handling.
