Livagen is a short peptide bioregulator built from four amino acids, with the sequence Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala (KEDA). It is best known in research for how small peptides interact with liver tissue and lymphocyte chromatin, and its very compact build is what makes it a handy tool compound.

It comes out of the well-known Khavinson line of peptide bioregulator work, which gives it a real research footing (Khavinson & Anisimov, 2009). That history is why it keeps turning up in studies on tissue-specific peptide signaling.
