Description

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein research compound composed of a common α-subunit and a hormone-specific β-subunit, used as a gonadotropin-receptor research peptide in laboratory models of LH/CG-receptor signaling. The native glycoprotein is sourced from urinary preparations or recombinant expression systems and is supplied as an investigational laboratory peptide for use in receptor pharmacology, ligand-binding research, and reproductive-axis investigation in research models.

Research interest in HCG focuses on its role as a model ligand for the luteinizing hormone / chorionic gonadotropin receptor (LHCGR), a class A G-protein-coupled receptor expressed across reproductive-axis tissues in research models. Because hCG and LH share the same receptor but display distinct intracellular signaling profiles, hCG is widely used as a reference compound for studying LH/CG-receptor signaling research, glycoprotein hormone structure-function relationships, and gonadotropin-pathway research in laboratory models (Cole, 2010, Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology; Casarini et al., 2018, Endocrine Reviews).

In laboratory research studies, hCG is used to investigate cyclic AMP / PKA-linked signaling, receptor-binding kinetics, steroid-pathway research in reproductive-axis cell models, and the influence of glycosylation state on receptor activation efficiency. Comparative research with LH and recombinant glycoform variants supports investigations of glycoprotein hormone biochemistry, ligand-receptor specificity, and downstream signaling-bias research in research models.

The peptide is supplied as a lyophilized powder to ensure optimal stability during storage and handling.
